A small tree native to Australia and widely used for its pharmacological properties. Tea tree essential oil is popular as a topical treatment to soothe skin infections. Used traditionally for small superficial wounds and insect bites, for small boils and sores, relief of itching and mild athlete’s foot, and minor inflammation of the oral mucosa. Used traditionally to soothe minor inflammations in the mouth or throat, and temporary relief for toothaches due to dental cavity.
