The essential oil is distilled from leaves and used traditionally in aromatherapy or diluted with carrier oils to be applied to the skin for soothing benefits. a tree indigenous to India, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka, and is widespread in Asia, Caribbean, and South America.
Tea tree
Tea tree
A small tree native to Australia and widely used for its pharmacological properties. Tea tree essential oil is popular as a topical treatment to soothe skin infections. Used traditionally for small superficial wounds and insect bites, for small boils and sores, relief of itching and mild athlete’s foot, and minor inflammation of the oral mucosa. An evergreen tree native to the Moluccas in Indonesia with large leaves and crimson flowers grouped together in clusters. Essential oil is distilled from dried flower buds. Used traditionally to soothe minor inflammations in the mouth or throat, and temporary relief for toothaches due to dental cavity.
